Liverpool have won three out of three under Arne Slot and Nottingham Forest face a tough examination of their own unbeaten record at Anfield this weekend.

A 3-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United prior to the international break yielded the most pleasing moment of the Dutchman's tenure so far in the Premier League.

Forest have also enjoyed a quietly impressive start to the campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo, with draws at home to Bournemouth and Wolves coming either side of a win at Southampton.

The Sporting News looks at the confirmed team news, the latest on injuries, and the predicted lineups for this fixture.

New signing Federico Chiesa was not part of Italy's squad for the internationals and was able to build fitness at Liverpool's Kirby training base. It was therefore a surprise to see him absent from the matchday squad.

Curtis Jones is back on the bench after a muscular problem and adds an option in midfield. Luis Dias and Alexis Mac Allister both start despite lengthy trips back from international duty. The latter was also nursing a muscular issue.

Harvey Elliott is out after suffering an injury that could reportedly see him miss the next 10 games.

Liverpool XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Alisson (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson — Gravenberch, Mac Allister — Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz — Jota.

Injured: Harvey Elliott, Alexis Mac Allister (doubt)
Suspended: None

Nuno had a full squad to choose from, with the exception of long-term absentee Danilo. A trip to Brighton & Hove Albion is up next after Anfield as Forest prepare for a severe test of their promising start.

Morgan Gibbs-White will carry their hopes of springing a surprise on Merseyside after enjoying his senior England debut last weekend. The playmaker is part of a packed midfield, with wingers Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga dropping to the bench

Nottingham Forest XI (4-5-1, right to left): Sels (GK) — Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno — Ward-Prowse, Dominguez, Anderson, Yates, Gibbs-White — Wood.

Injured: Danilo
Suspended: None
