Neeraj Chopra, the defending Olympic champion in javelin throw, is one of India's top hopes for a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Following his historic win at the Tokyo Olympics, all eyes are on Chopra to replicate his success in Paris.

Chopra, who has a personal best of 89.94m, recently won the gold medal at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland on June 18 with a throw of 85.97m. 

He came to Paris fully prepared and qualified for the final of Javelin Throw with a sensational effort of 89.34m that guaranteed him a spot in the final. 

Neeraj's main rivals include Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic, Germany's Julian Weber, and former world champion Anderson Peters. Pakistan's Ashad Nadeem is also a threat.
