Apart from Borgohain the other two boxers to have won Olympic medals are the legendary Mary Kom who won bronze at the London 2012 Olympics and Vijender Singh who became the first boxer to win an Olympic medal for India in boxing. He also won bronze by defeating Ecuador's Carlos Gongora at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Out of the three only Lovlina will be representing the tri-colour once again at the Olympic Games in Paris, this time competing in the 75 kg weight class.
