Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat has secured yet another bronze medal for India at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. After falling short in the semi-final against Japanese top-seed, Sehrawat made amends in his bronze medal play-off bout against Puerto Rican wrestler, Darian Toi Cruz.

Courtesy of the wrestler's triumph, India now has six medals at the Paris Olympic Games. The victory in men's freestyle 57 kg category would mean that India's run of podium finishes in wrestling is now extended to five consecutive Olympics.

What happened in the Aman Sehrawat's bronze medal match at the Paris Olympics 2024?

India's Aman Sehrawat won his bronze-medal play-off bout against Darian Toi Cruz. The Indian wrestler recorded an eight-point victory over the Puerto Rican, winning the game by 13-5.

Only twice did Sehrawat trail in the six-minute long bout, that too by a margin of a solitary point. He was just two points away from winning the bout on the basis of technical superiority. Nevertheless, the Indian was dominant all throughout the bronze medal match, deservedly emerging as the recipient of the bronze medal in the men's 57kg freestyle category at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Former Sports Minister of India, Kiren Rijiju congratulated Sehrawat for his bronze medal win. Rijiju expressed pride in the 21-year-old, citing hard work, perseverance and his talent to deliver at the biggest stage.
