Two major title bouts will headline a stacked International Fight Week schedule for the UFC. At UFC 290 on July 8, Alexander Volkanovski defends the featherweight title against Yair Rodriguez. The co-main event is a rematch between UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja.

UFC 290 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and the main card airs on ESPN+ PPV in the U.S..

Volkanovski looks to defend the featherweight title for a fifth time. "The Great" moved in weight in his last fight to challenge UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in February. Will that be a factor in his bout against Rodriguez, the interim champion on a two-fight win streak?

Moreno is coming off a tetralogy against Deiveson Figueiredo where he went 2-1-1. "The Assassin Baby" is on a two-fight win streak and looks to avenge a loss from 2018 against Pantoja. It was the second time they fought one another, as Pantoja also beat him on an episode of The Ultimate Fighter.

Since that 2018 loss, he got cut by the UFC, got rehired, and has gone 6-1-2 in the octagon. Motivated, Moreno believes the outcome at UFC 290 will be different against the Brazilian.

"I've said this before, and I'm going to say this right now — he never fought against the best Brandon Moreno when we fought each other," Moreno said on The MMA Hour. "But right now, I'm just focused on him. I'm just training for him, doing the game plan for him, and I'm ready, man."
