The draw for the UEFA Europa League's new-look league phase took place in Monaco on Friday, August 30.

Mirroring Thursday's Champions League draw, each club in an expanded 36-team competition will learn the eight opponents they will play under the so-called "Swiss model".

Teams are split into four pots and will face two opponents from each pot. Clubs from the same country cannot face one another during the league phase and a team can only face a maximum of two opponents from the same country.

At the end of the league phase, the top eight clubs will progress to the Round of 16, with the teams placed ninth to 24th taking part in a playoff round for the right to join them. Teams finishing 25th to 36th will be eliminated from European competition.

Manchester United are among the teams in Pot 1 following their FA Cup triumph last season.
