Virat Kohli India vs Bangladesh Tests
(getty)

Virat Kohli was seen practising in the nets during the lunch hours on Day 3 of the ongoing Test match between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. The 35-year-old had a disappointing outing on his return to the longest format.

In the nets, he was seen batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, practising to display a better show in Kanpur in the second Test.

India set a target of 515 runs for the Bangla Tigers to chase in Chennai. Heading into the fourth day, Rohit Sharma & Co. sit comfortably in the lead, needing six wickets to seal the win. Bangladesh, on the other hand, require 357 runs to win.

WATCH: Virat Kohli practices in nets with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal after fiascos in Chennai

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the leading run-scorer for India in Tests in 2024. However, he had a rare failure in Chennai in the second innings of the ongoing Test against Bangladesh.

The southpaw has come under pressure to cement his place as the first-choice opener alongside Rohit Sharma after Shubman Gill smacked a ton in the second innings in Chennai.

Kohli, before the ongoing Test, last played red-ball action for India in January 2024. Having retired from the T20 format earlier in June 2024, Kohli would hope to be in the best books of new head coach Gautam Gambhir. He was seen putting in the extra mile in the nets, alongside Jaiswal.
