Ahmed Shehzad, Pakistan cricketer, has expressed his frustration over the recent state of Pakistan cricket. He did not hold back his criticism after Pakistan's disappointing loss to Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the first Test match at Rawalpindi.

This defeat has left many questioning the decisions and strategies within the team, and Shehzad is no exception.

In a candid interview, Shehzad raised concerns about Shan Masood's leadership, particularly his handling of players involved in groupism. He suggested that Masood should have stepped down if he couldn't manage the situation effectively.

What did Ahmed Shehzad say about Shan Masood's captaincy?

Ahmed Shehzad was critical of Shan Masood's ability to control the dressing room. He pointed out that Masood, as the captain, should have taken strong actions against players who were dividing the team. It is likely he was referring to the likes of Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam who are power centres of the team and are not very receptive to taking orders.

Shehzad highlighted that a leader must have the courage to make tough decisions, even if it means sidelining big stars.

"If Shan Masood knew that there were players in the team who were involved in groupism, he should have taken action. If he couldn't handle it, then he should have resigned," Shehzad remarked.

Shehzad also highlighted the poor performance of Pakistan's middle order. He said that consistent failures in the middle order have been a major issue for the team. Shehzad also highlighted the lack of contribution from star batsmen like Babar Azam in 14 innings is unacceptable.

Apart from criticizing the team, Shehzad did not shy away from lashing out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He blamed the board for not focusing on developing domestic cricket, which is important for nurturing future talent. Shehzad also expressed disappointment that the PCB hasn't done enough to address the problems within the team.

"The PCB needs to take responsibility. If you want the best for Pakistan cricket, you need to make tough decisions and fix the issues at the root level," Shehzad added.

As Pakistan prepares for the second Test against Bangladesh, the pressure is on to deliver a performance that can restore some pride. Whether the team can bounce back remains to be seen.
