Since it’s the first ever World Cup on US soil, the clay has been imported from the Adelaide Stadium in Australia but unfortunately has failed to replicate the Australian conditions, with the pitches turning out to be very slow and sloppy.

Ahead of India’s campaign, former cricketer turned commentator, Aakash Chopra has advised the Indian skipper to change his approach for the T20 World Cup via his YouTube channel.

What advice did Aakash Chopra have for Rohit Sharma?

Talking about how India could approach the upcoming World Cup and end the 11-year long wait for an ICC trophy, Aakash Chopra has advised Rohit Sharma on what the team could do, considering the tricky pitches in the USA.

Rohit was known for his ultra-aggressive approach during the powerplay in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He has continued to adopt that approach in IPL as well.

Rohit Sharma could enter the pitch with an ultra-aggressive mindset, but he shouldn’t be doing that. The approach should be to stay at the crease for a longer period of time.

I don’t think we will be scoring 60 runs in the opening six overs. We can ignore the USA vs Canada game, I’m talking about the real games at this World Cup (given the pitches) when India will be facing the likes of Pakistan and Ireland with brilliant bowling attacks.

Further, Aakash Chopra Chopra mentioned the importance of winning the trophy, as the team has now been eluded from an ICC trophy for over 11 years.

India has to make it to the Top 2. It can happen that some things don’t work in your favour in the final, but you have to make it to the finals at least. I also think it's going to be the last World Cup for some of the players, and it would be great to watch them lift the trophy
