Dravid, who has a history with the Rajasthan Royals, is expected to return to the team after several years. According to reports from Cricbuzz, Dravid is the top candidate to step into the coaching role.

His return to the Sanju Samson-led franchise is seen as a homecoming. Dravid is not currently associated with any other IPL franchise, making this move possible.

Will Kumar Sangakkara's be moving on to England job?

Kumar Sangakkara, who has been with Rajasthan Royals for the past four years, may be leaving the franchise to join the ECB. The move is being considered after the recent departure of Matthew Mott as England's head coach.

Sangakkara confirmed that while the ECB has not yet approached him, he is open to the possibility. In a statement to the English media, Sangakkara said:

"Well, I know my name has been mentioned for some reason, but there has not been any approach as such. I think the England white-ball job is an exciting prospect for anyone, but there are so many good candidates out there. I am very happy at the moment. The Rajasthan Royals experience has been very fulfilling, and it has been a job I have really enjoyed over the last four years."

What does this mean for Rajasthan Royals?

With Dravid likely to take over as coach, Rajasthan Royals may see a shift in strategy for the 2025 season. Dravid coached the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. His experience and history with the team could bring a new direction to Rajasthan Royals.
