Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) journey in the IPL this season has been nothing but magical. The three-time finalists seemed to be down during the first half of the season, having lost seven out of the eight games played. Since then, the Faf-led side went on to win six games on the trot to qualify for the playoff round.

RCB will now be facing the inaugural IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the eliminator round of the tournament. RR haven’t been in great form either, being winless in five consecutive games, providing RCB a massive chance to build further on their current momentum. The game is set to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 22.

Ahead of this massive clash, RCB’s former owner, Viay Mallya has sent his best wishes to Faf’s men, who are in the hunt for their first ever IPL title.

What did Vijay Mallya say?

Posting on X, the former RCB owner praised his own decision to have picked Virat Kohli to lead the RCB franchise

Kohli’s form has been a key factor in RCB’s resurgence in form. The former skipper is the holder of the orange cap and has scored over 700 runs in the on-going season. Kohli’s form is going to be crucial in the game against RR. A good start from both the openers could help RCB take the game away from RR quite quickly.

Jos Buttler’s absence due to international duty will be another headache for the Royals to manage. The winner of the RR vs RCB will be facing the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2 on 24th May in order to determine who will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final.
