What did Rashid Latif say about Pakistan's struggles in international cricket?

Speaking to media outlet Sports Tak, Rashid Latif cited the major reason behind Pakistan's recent struggles. He revealed that the team is disjointed, with major figures within the team having a rift among themselves.

He also blamed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their strategies to handle all the internal conflicts.

"The moment when the news broke about the tussle between Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi, you know it is not the same anymore. The blame for the T20 World Cup 2024 was thrown on Shaheen, citing his attitude issues," Latif stated.

:If Shaheen's attitude was a problem, you should've sent him home. The board has played a masterstroke of 'Divide And Rule'. The team is divided now. It is not the same team from a year ago when Babar Azam was only the skipper," the 55-year-old added.

What next for Pakistan cricket team?

Shan Masood & Co. are set for yet another stern test at home, as the mighty England visit Pakistan for a three-match Test tour. The tour is scheduled as a part of the World Test Championship (2023-25).

The first match will be held in Multan from October 07 to October 11, 2024. Pakistan are currently placed eighth on the latest WTC rankings, and the three home Tests would decide their fate in the ongoing campaign.
