Pakistan's Test captain, Shan Masood, has outlined a focused plan to guide his team to the World Test Championship (WTC) final. After a mixed start to the 2023-25 WTC campaign, Masood has highlighted intent and positivity in all aspects of the game.

Pakistan started their WTC campaign with a strong performance by winning a two-Test series against Sri Lanka. They faced challenges in Australia though, where they failed to win a match in a three-Test series.

This has left them ranked fifth in the WTC standings. This makes it crucial for the team to win in their upcoming matches.

What is Pakistan's plan to win the World Test Championship?

Masood highlighted winning the remaining matches to have a chance at reaching the WTC final.

"If we need to compete in the World Test Championship, we need to secure victories, which requires showing intent and positivity in every aspect of the game," he said.

Pakistan has a busy schedule ahead, with series against Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies. Masood pointed out that seven out of their next nine Tests will be played on home soil. This gives Pakistan an advantage.

"The positive thing is that we are playing at home and our players will be familiar with the conditions. We need to take advantage of it, but the key will be to handle mental and physical pressure," Masood concluded.

With nine matches remaining in this WTC cycle, Shan Masood and his team will focus on a proactive approach in batting, bowling, and fielding as Pakistan eyes the WTC final spot to lift the coveted Mace.
