The impact of the weather has been evident in the lead-up to the Test. Afghanistan's initial training session on August 30 was cancelled due to rain and a wet outfield.

Similarly, New Zealand faced a setback on September 8, with their training session also disrupted by the weather. The teams had to make do with indoor preparations before the captains presented the trophy in a brief ceremony.

What can we expect on the first day?

The initial day of the Test match is forecasted to experience a mix of weather conditions. According to Accuweather, there is a 78% chance of rain, coupled with high humidity.

Spectators and players might encounter a blend of partly sunny intervals and localized thunderstorms throughout the day.
