The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah had earlier revealed that the all-new National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru will be unveiled soon. As Shah's tenure comes to an end, the 'Project NCA' is expected to come to life later this month. 

Shah will take over as the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman from December 1, ending his term as the secretary of India's apex body for cricket. As the BCCI enters a new dawn, the NCA will be ready to use in under a month, now.

The 35-year-old earlier revealed the world-class facilities that will be available at the newly-constructed NCA, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

He stated that several training pitches, cricket grounds, and indoor training facilities, besides an Olympic-size swimming pool,  'state-of-the-art' training, recovery, and sports science facilities will be available at the new campus. 

When will the new National Cricket Academy be unveiled? 

The National Cricket Academy (NCA) will be unveiled on September 27, as per media outlet Times of India. The inauguration of the training facility is scheduled in a way to clash with the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the BCCI at Bengaluru. 

The report also stated that Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will inaugurate the newly-built NCA later this month.

What is the National Cricket Academy?

The NCA is a training facility under the wing of the BCCI. Arguably the best in the world, the training facility is primarily built to identify and nurture talents, who have the potential to represent the Indian cricket team in the future.

Moreover, the facilities at the NCA are available not only to the centrally-contracted players but also to young budding talents, who are sidelined due to injury.

Former India international, VVS Laxman is the current director of the National Cricket Academy.
