Will Musheer Khan's 181 runs on Duleep Trophy debut help him find a place in the India Test squad?

With his consistent and impressive performances in the domestic circuit, and particularly in the red-ball format, Musheer does indeed make a good case for a potential selection in the Indian Test team's squad for the upcoming series.

Despite being just 19 years of age, he has played some crucial knocks in his young first-class career so far, including some remarkable innings in the recent Ranji Trophy playoffs for Mumbai and on his Duleep Trophy debut:

  • 203 in Ranji Trophy Quarterfinals
  • 55 in Ranji Trophy Semifinals
  • 136 in Ranji Trophy Finals
  • 181 in Duleep Trophy (India B)

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) have not yet picked the India squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting September 19.

According to reports, the BCCI will take a decision on the selection of players to the India Test team after the first round of matches in the ongoing Duleep Trophy.

Musheer's inning of 181 required incredible grit and talent as he displayed his quality on an important stage in a tournament where some of the best players in the country are involved.
