Young Indian batter Musheer Khan has made his first public appearance since the tragic accident. The teenager met with an accident on Friday when his car hit a divider on the Purvanchal highway. He was travelling from Azamgarh to Lucknow (in Uttar Pradesh) along with his father, Naushad Khan. 

Two days after the tragedy, the 19-year-old has expressed gratitude towards his fans for keeping him in their prayers. Musheer's father has also thanked the cricketing organisations for taking his son under their wing. 

Musheer, Sarfaraz Khan's younger brother, hit a valiant 181-run knock for India B, in the Duleep Trophy game against India A. Earlier, he starred in India's U19 World Cup winning campaign, scoring 360 runs and bagging 7 wickets in six appearances.

What did Musheer Khan say about his condition after the accident?

In an official video via Instagram, Khan, alongside his father, made a public appearance to express gratitude towards the well-wishers. India's U19 World Cup star 

I want to thank the almighty God for giving me another chance to live (after the accident). I am fine for now. And my father, who was hurt in the accident, is fine too. Thank you so much for all your prayers.

What did Musheer Khan's father say about his son's accident?

Speaking on his son's condition, Naushad said, 

Firstly, I thank the almighty for this new life post accident. We would also like to thank all the well-wishers, fans, and our relatives for their prayers. We would also extend our gratitude towards the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for taking complete care of Musheer. They have taken him under their custody, and will provide further steps regarding fitness.

When will Musheer Khan return to action? 

Musheer Khan, brother of India international Sarfaraz, was seen wearing a strap over his neck, having suffered a neck injury from the accident. The 19-year-old is expected to be sidelined for at least four months. 

He will miss the upcoming Irani Cup match between Mumbai and Rest of India and is likely to miss out on action in the early stages of Ranji Trophy.
