Michael Vaughan has been the talk of the town, lately. The former England skipper has had an online tussle with a Pakistan fan, regarding his comments on the Indian Premier League (IPL).

England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had made the early decision to call back all its players from the IPL after the group stages. The English players could not feature in the IPL playoffs, even if their franchises made it to the knockouts.

The likes of Will Jacks, Jos Buttler, Reece Topley, Phil Salt, were absent for the IPL playoffs, as their franchises battled it out for the ultimate glory. Former England skipper slammed the ECB for bringing all their players for England's bilateral series against Pakistan.

What did Michael Vaughan say on England players missing the IPL playoffs?

Speaking with Adam Gilchrist on Club Prairie Fire podcast. former England batter Michael Vaughan slammed the ECB for calling back their players, having them not feature in the IPL playoffs.

I think England have missed the trick by sending all their players home. I think Will Jacks, Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, playing in the IPL knockouts - calls for pressure, crowd, expectation, Michael Vaughan opined that the English trio should have stayed back in India for the IPL playoffs.

Michael Vaughan opined that the IPL playoffs would prepare the English players better than the bilateral series against Pakistan. The pressure that the IPL knockouts carry, is second to none.

Playing IPL knockouts would have been better preparation than playing a bilateral series against Pakistan. I'm all for International cricket, but now and again, IPL is so exposed to pressure, Vaughan stated how IPL is exposed to playing under pressure, than the T20Is against Pakistan.

Vaughan added on how the fans, team owners, and social media play a massive role in the build up to the IPL playoffs. The players would want to be in a high-intensity atmosphere, as per Michael Vaughan.

The players are under massive pressure in the IPL, from the fans, owners, and social media. Salt and Jacks should have surely stayed back in India for the IPL Playoffs. I'm not disrespecting Pakistan, but the skill levels in the IPL are so high, Vaughan concluded on Club Prairie Fire podcast.
