What did Kenya sack head coach Dodda Ganesh?

Reports suggest that Ganesh’s sudden dismissal is linked to the invalidation of his agreement with Cricket Kenya.

According to sources, the board’s decision was due to non-compliance with certain guidelines during the appointment process.

A statement issued by Cricket Kenya’s executive board, signed by the Director of Women’s Cricket, Pearlyne Omami, confirmed the decision.

The statement read, "Under a resolution of the executive board of Cricket Kenya passed on Wednesday, 28th August 2024, and anchored under inter alia Articles 5.9 and 8.4.3 of the Cricket Kenya Constitution, we wish to notify you that the executive board has declined to ratify your appointment as head coach of the men’s cricket national team for want of following established procedures."

The decision came just weeks before Ganesh was supposed to lead Kenya in the ICC Division 2 Challenge League, where the team would face opponents such as Papua New Guinea and Qatar.
