South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has predicted the winner of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that will happen as a part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle. The two nations met at the WTC 2023 final, with the Aussies beating India at the iconic Lord's Stadium.

The fierce rivalry has gone leaps and bounds as the two nations strive to become the best in international cricket. Australia are the reigning champions in the Test and ODI formats, in which India finished second-best on both occasions. Meanwhile, India won the recent T20 World Cup 2024. 

As the world prepares for another BGT spectacle to unfold, Shamsi picked his side to emerge victorious in the five-match Test series.

What did Tabraiz Shamsi say about the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy?

South African leg-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, picked his choice for the BGT 2024/25. The 34-year-old replied to a fan's tweet while doing a 'Question and Answer' session on his X profile.

When being asked about India's chances for the upcoming BGT away from home, Shamsi, on X, wrote, "Why not... India have shown they can win in Australia. But Australia have also shown they can beat any team in the world. Both are gun teams and the series between them are always entertaining."
