Green Park Stadium, Kanpur: Pitch Report

The Green Park is generally considered to be a decent batting wicket in the early part of a Test match. Historically, pitch at this ground has had black soil pitches, where the bounce is low and the clay, when watered, tends to hold the surface together for longer, which helps the batters to pile up runs.

According to the pitch curator at Kanpur, the pitch is expected to aid spinners by Day 3, where we will begin to see turn on the surface.

It was also reported that two surfaces were made for the Test match and "not a tinge of grass has been left on the surface, as per BCCI's instructions".
