India captain Rohit Sharma might not be the fittest cricketer when it comes to his physique but his fitness levels on the field have never been found wanting. 

Though there have been fans commenting various opinions on Rohit's fitness, the 37-year-old has been at the top of his game, leading India to victory in the recently-concluded 2024 T20 World Cup. 

And former India international Dinesh Karthik has praised Rohit Sharma's efforts to improve his fitness in the build-up to the ongoing Bangladesh series. 

In fact, Rohit was seen working overtime on the field, beyond the usual training sessions of the team. He was pictured taking a lap of  Chepauk alongside assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, after the end of first day's play in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh.

What did Dinesh Karthik say about Rohit Sharma's recent fitness prowess?

Speaking to Jio Cinema, former India player Karthik has lauded Rohit for his extra efforts to maintain his fitness in the recent months.  

Karthik talked  about the 'tremendous' work put in by Rohit Sharma since the Sri Lanka series. 

"Rohit Sharma has done tremendous work on his fitness post Sri Lanka series," Karthik stated on Jio Cinema. 

He was speaking after Rohit was seen putting in the dives on the field to stop boundaries during Bangladesh's first innings.
