Graeme Smith, the SA20 League Commissioner, expressed his confidence in the teams. He noted that the previous seasons featured top-quality cricket in front of full crowds.

There will be 13 picks available for the franchises at the auction. Each team must also choose a rookie for the upcoming season.

Many players are available, including fast bowlers like Shamar Joseph and Naseem Shah. Nearly 200 players have been shortlisted, including 115 South Africans, but only 13 spots will be filled.

Each squad must consist of 19 players. Teams need at least ten South African players, a maximum of seven international players, one rookie, and one wildcard player.
