England captain Harry Brook starred with the bat in the 5th ODI against Australia despite a loss in Bristol. The hosts eventually went down to Australia in a rain-affected match, despite them putting up 309 runs on the board after batting first. 

Brook scored a 52-ball 72 to guide his team to a 300-plus total. However, Australia won the game by 49 runs (as per the Duckworth-Lewis method), thereby winning the series by 3-2.

The England skipper beat former India captain Virat Kohli, to become the highest-scoring captain in a bilateral ODI series against Australia. The 25-year-old has beaten Kohli's record of 310 runs, scored in the five-match ODI series in 2019.
