What is Shikhar Dhawan's record in ICC tournaments?

While Dhawan has not had a long international career compared to the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli or MS Dhoni, he has made a huge impact with the Indian team.

He has stepped up when it mattered the most for the country, that is in the ICC tournaments, including the World Cups and Champions Trophy competitions.

Dhawan's most memorable tournament came in 2013, during the ICC Champions Trophy, held in England and Wales, where he was not only adjudged as the Player of the Tournament but also ended up winning the Golden Bat for scoring the most runs in that tournament.

Dhawan, who last played for India in an ODI against Bangladesh in December 2022, graciously made way for the upcoming generation of batters, particularly Shubman Gill, who later took up the opening slot in ODIs.

"I've told myself I should not feel sad that you won't play for India again but feel happy that you played for the country," Dhawan said in his farewell message.

Further, he had made his last appearance in the IPL 2024 season for the Punjab Kings against his former team, the Sunrisers Hyderabad, but was ruled out of the season due to an injury.
