The Duleep Trophy 2024 has seen some exciting performances on Day 1 of Round 2. The matches took place in Anantapur, with India A facing India D, and India C battling India B.

India C ended the day at 357/5 against India B, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s brilliant century and contributions from Baba Indrajith and Ruturaj Gaikwad. In the other match, Shams Mulani’s fighting 88 not out helped India A recover to 288/8 against India D, who had them in trouble earlier at 93/5.

Shams Mulani's heroics for India A

In the match between India A and India D, India A found themselves in trouble, slipping to 93/5. Shams Mulani's unbeaten 88 helped his team recover.

His innings included strong partnerships with Tanush Kotian and Kumar Kushagra. Mulani was on the verge of his maiden First-Class century as India A ended the day at 288/8 after 82 overs.

Ishan Kishan's century on return for India C

Ishan Kishan returned to First-Class cricket in style. He scored a brilliant hundred for India C against India B. His quickfire 111 anchored India C’s innings. Baba Indrajith also made a contribution with 79, helping their team finish the day at 357/5 in 79 overs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad returns after Injury

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was injured early on in the match, also came back to score a few quick runs. His return was an important moment for India C.

After retiring hurt early in the innings, Gaikwad made a comeback and played some attacking shots. His presence will be crucial as India C looks to capitalize on the strong start provided by Kishan and Indrajith.
