The second round matches of the Duleep Trophy 2024 is currently underway and Day 2 in Anantapur saw Shreyas Iyer's India D struggle against India A. 

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan and Baba Indrajith duo helped India C pile up 525 runs against India B in Bengaluru.

India A v India D Round-Up:

India A, who ended Day 1 on 288/8, could not add much to their overnight score and folded for 290. Harshit Rana returned figures of 4/51 while Vidwath Kaverappa and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each. 

In response, India D's top 5, except Devdutt Padikkal, kept throwing wickets away. Opener, Atharva Taide was caught plumb by Khaleel Ahmed as he tried to leave a ball which was coming in. Captain Iyer was dismissed for a 7-ball-duck while chipping one to the fielder at mid on. Sanju Samson disappointed yet again as he tried to pull one off his right shoulder and top-edged a catch to mid on.

Devdutt Padikkal held on to an end but the southpaw missed out on a century by 8 runs. Rana ended the innings with a quick cameo of 31 with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Khaleel Ahmed and Aaqib Khan took 3-wickets each while Prasidh Krishna, Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani chipped in with one each.

At the brink of stumps on Day 2 when India A were batting 115/0, Iyer came in to bowl and dismissed his opposite number, Mayank Agarwal for 56(87) caught and bowled. With Pratham Singh unbeaten at 59, India A finished the day with a lead of 222.

India B v India C Round-Up:

India C, batting first, were helped by good knocks by Rajat Patidar, Baba Indrajith and a hundred from Ishan Kishan on Day 1. 

Kishan scored a quick 111(126) before getting bowled to Mukesh Kumar while Indrajith (72) got outdone by Rahul Chahar while batting at 78(136).

Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a solid 58 before Manav Suthar (82) and Anshul Kamboj (38) helped India C post 525 runs.

Mukesh Kumar and Rahul Chahar both ended with 4-fers while Navdeep Saini and Nitish Kumar Reddy took a wicket each.

At the Stumps on Day 2, India B came up with a strong response as both the openers, captain Abhimanyu Easwaran and N Jagadeesan carried the bat with 51*(91) and 67*(126) respectively.
