Rohit Sharma Josh Hazlewood India vs Australia

Former Australia coach and player Darren Lehmann thinks Australia will comprehensively beat India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India are scheduled to visit Australia for a five-match Test series as a part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.

In what would be a top-of-the-table clash against the Aussies, Rohit Sharma & Co. have their tasks cut out, with reigning ODI world champions chasing the top spot. India are currently placed at the top, with 71.67 Percentage Points (PCT), with Australia being close second with 62.50 PCT.

What did Darren Lehmann say?

Darren Lehmann took to X (formerly Twitter), to reveal his predictions for the much-anticipated Test series that starts in November

The former player thinks Australia will comfortably clinch the series with a 3-1 margin as he predicted that the hosts will go off to a winning start in Perth.

On X, Lehmann wrote, "Australia v India prediction , 3-1 Australia Will win in Perth to start the summer on the bouncy track then quite even after that with the home team playing conditions better. Need to keep Sharma and Kohli quiet all summer."

When did India last win Border-Gavaskar Trophy away from home?

India emerged victorious on both of their previous two visits to Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue won in the 2018/19 season, before repeating the extraordinary feat in 2020/21.

Lehmann's remarks are quite bold, considering India's recent record against Australia in their backyard. India won the four-match Test series by 2-1 on both occasions.
