A large part of the credit for India's meteoric rise in the sport in the last decade is down to the BCCI. Jay Shah, who is touted to become the next chief of the International Cricket Council (ICC), has been at the helm of the development of Indian domestic cricket for a while now.

Under Shah's leadership, BCCI has constructed a new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, with state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities.

As a further benefit to the upcoming talents in the country, the 35-year-old declared prize money awards at various age-group levels and domestic tournaments.

Why did BCCI announce a prize money incentive in domestic circuit?

The main aim behind providing monetary motivation to cricketers is to recognise the outstanding performances put in by cricketers. There is no bigger motivator than money, as Shah thanked the BCCI for their support towards budding talent.

Shah added in his post,

"This initiative aims to recognize and reward outstanding performances in the domestic circuit. A heartfelt thank you to the Apex Council for their unwavering support in this endeavour. Together, we are fostering a more rewarding environment for our cricketers."
