Ravichandran Ashwin has added another milestone to his impressive career. During the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai, Ashwin took his 37th five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

This achievement places him on par with legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne, known for his iconic spin bowling. Ashwin's performance helped India take control of the match, with Bangladesh's batting lineup crumbling under his skilful spin.

The Indian off-spinner continues to shine on home soil, especially at Chennai, where he has delivered some of his best performances. With this latest feat, Ashwin is now part of an elite group of bowlers with the most five-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

In the match, Ashwin made his mark early on. After picking up three wickets on day three, he added three more on day four, completing a six-wicket haul in Bangladesh's second innings.

His first breakthrough of the day came when he dismissed Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan in his very first over. Shortly after, he took the wicket of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, further weakening Bangladesh's chances in the match.

By taking his 37th five-wicket haul, Ashwin has now equalled Shane Warne's record. Warne, one of the greatest spinners in cricket history, set this record during his celebrated career with Australia.

Ravichandran Ashwin continues to be a game-changer for India in Tests. With Ashwin still actively playing, he will most-likely surpass Warne's tally and inch closer to Muttiah Muralitharan's incredible record of 67 five-wicket hauls.
