Prolific Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin broke Anil Kumble's record on Day 3 of India's first Test match against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.

Ashwin scored a sensational century in India's first innings, after the visitors elected to bowl on winning the toss. His 113 off 133 saved India from a certain embarrassment. He further shone with the ball on the third day as he picked up three Bangladesh wickets in 15 overs.

With the three dismissals,  Ashwin broke Anil Kumble's long-standing record to become the Indian with the most wickets in the 4th innings of a Test match.

How many wickets has Ravi Ashwin picked in 4th innings in his Test career?

Ashwin broke Anil Kumble's record of 94 wickets to become the highest wicket-taker in the final innings of the Test for India. His three wickets against Bangladesh at Chepauk meant that Kumble was displaced from the helm.
