Both WBC and WBO super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton and challenger Naoya Inoue have made weight ahead of their showdown, which takes place at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo on July 25. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will be broadcast on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) won the WBO title in 2021 when he edged Angelo Leo. He followed that up with a gutsy performance against Brandon Figueroa to win the WBC belt. The 29-year-old is the +330 underdog (per Caesars) but is not letting that affect his confidence heading into the biggest fight of his career to date.

"My training went great. I feel great. I would say I have 10% of people in boxing that believe in me,” Fulton said via The Ring. “This is my fourth champion in a row I’ll be facing. I love challenges. My whole life has been a challenge. Inoue is smaller than me, but that doesn’t mean anything. I’m way smaller than (Brandon) Figueroa, and look what I did to him (to win the WBC title). I know I don’t get any respect or not the respect that I know I deserve.”

Inoue (24-0, 21 KOs) will be looking to win gold in his fourth weight class. A former undisputed bantamweight champion and of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, Inoue has an entire country on his side. Having held gold since 2014, “The Monster,” is a -420 favorite to topple Fulton and he is ready to take down the latest obstacle in his way.

“I haven’t been a challenger in five years, and that has heightened my motivation as well," Inoue said at a press conference via DAZN. "I think I will be able to perform better than before."
