History is on the line in Dublin, Ireland, as hometown hero Katie Taylor competes there for the first time since turning pro. The undisputed lightweight champion moves in weight to challenge for Chantelle Cameron’s undisputed super lightweight titles on May 20.

The fight is inside the 3Arena and airs on DAZN worldwide.

Taylor (22-0) has held gold since 2017, her seventh pro fight. Defending her status as undisputed lightweight champion seven times, Taylor has managed to face and beat the best boxing has to offer. Now, she is the one on the outside looking in.

She's already tasted super lightweight gold when she beat Christina Linardatou in 2019 for the WBO title. It is either a dangerous fight for Taylor or one that will enhance her legacy.

“I don’t really see it as anything too outrageous in terms of what I’ve actually experienced before,” Taylor told The Independent. “Every single time I step into the ring, I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on me. I am just getting on with things, looking forward to the fight, I’m excited about it, I’m not feeling the burden right now, I’m just excited. This could be the biggest moment of my career so far.”

Cameron (17-0) has held super lightweight gold since 2020. An English women's national championships winner, Cameron has helped enhance women's boxing in the U.K. thanks to wins against Melissa Hernandez, Victoria Bustos, and Jessica McCaskill.

A fighter with power, 'Il Capo' is ready to let loose thanks to the guidance of her team, led by trainer Jamie Moore.

“Jamie says this is the fight where I can really be me,” Cameron told Boxing News. “There’s been other fights I’ve had to go on my back foot a little bit, and he’s not really let me off the leash. This fight, he’s letting me off the leash, and that’s why it’s going to be a good fight because people are really going to see what I can do. I’ve been held back a little bit, and you see it in the corner Jamie and Nigel are just shouting at me. I’m going all guns blazing from round one [in this one].”

Will Taylor make history at home, or will Cameron spoil Taylor’s homecoming and retain her titles? The Sporting News is here to give some insight on how to bet on this super lightweight title fight.

Will Cameron’s three-inch reach advantage play a factor? What about Taylor feeling rejuvenated in a new weight class?

It is a fascinating fight that may rival the Taylor vs. Serrano classic. Taylor is getting up there in age, and her best days may be behind her. However, her fighting spirit can't be denied. Cameron will bring it to her, and the champion could attempt to widen the distance with jabs. If Taylor does get on the inside, she can control the pace and make it a closer fight than expected.

A fighter in every sense of the word, destiny may be on Taylor’s side here. With the Irish faithful behind her and her overall skills, Taylor may take the fight (in a close contest) and the gold.

Sporting News prediction: Taylor via unanimous decision
