Jack Catterall has plenty of options ahead of him as a former world title challenger. However, before he can fight for gold again, the Englishman must get past a seasoned veteran in Jorge Linares on October 21. The fight takes place at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool and airs on DAZN.

A former British super lightweight champion, Catterall failed to beat then-undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor, but the scoring was highly controversial. A rematch failed to materialize, so Catterall is looking elsewhere for world title glory.

Linares, who turned pro in 2002, is a former WBC featherweight, WBA super featherweight, and WBA, WBC, and Ring lightweight champion, The Venezuelan technician is currently on a three-fight losing streak and is 2-4 in his last six. Regardless, the 38-year-old former champ insists that he has plenty left in the tank.

“I think we all know Linares is a future Hall of Famer, and I wouldn’t show disrespect to any opponent by talking about any other fights right now,” Catterall said via Boxing Scene. “I said to Sam and the team around me, we don’t talk about any fights – it’s 100% focus on Linares. We pay him that respect, and we train hard to win that fight on October 21. I think that’s why the fight is exciting – Linares has been over to our turf, my turf, and always picked up the victories. I’m next up now to defend our turf and pick up the win.”
