Amanda Serrano is all about making history. “The Real Deal” is a seven-division world champion and was one part of the first woman's fight to headline at Madison Square Garden when she dropped a close decision to fellow pound-for-pounder Katie Taylor.

Next up, the Puerto Rican star will become the first female fighter since 2007 to compete over 12 three-minute rounds when she takes on Danila Ramos at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Florida. The bout, plus undercard action, will air on DAZN.

While she is undisputed at featherweight, Serrano will not be defending her WBC title because the organization refused to sanction a 12-round fight between females. Knowing the consequences of booking this fight, Serrano hopes the contest leads to an overall change in women’s boxing.

Serrano’s trainer and manager Jordan Maldonado and Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions have helped make a long-awaited dream become reality.

“Obviously, this came from the crazy mind of Jordan,” Serrano told Boxing Scene. “We have the WBO mandatory, so we wanted to make a statement. We wanted to do something different. So, we asked Danila and her team if they would be interested to fight twelve rounds and three minutes per round. It took her team, like, two seconds to agree to it. So, we just decided to do it. (Co-manager) Nakisa [Bidarian] went to the Florida commission to make sure it was cool, and now we’re doing it."

Ramos became the top WBO contender by beating Brenda Karen Carabajal in August. The Brazilian is the +800 underdog per Bet MGM and only has one win via knockout compared to 30 for Serrano.
