Star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra failed to defend his title by bagging a silver medal in the 2024 Olympic Games. Chopra became the first Indian track and field athlete to win multiple Olympic medals.

India's javelin ace, Chopra threw the highest in the qualification round at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Qualifying from Group B, the 26-year-old threw 89.34 metres to advance to the final of the men's javelin throw in the ongoing Olympics.

Going back to the past, the then 23-year-old finished first on the podium at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, throwing the javelin 87.58 metres. Three years later, Chopra already outdid his personal Olympic best in the qualification round itself. 

Neeraj Chopra headed into the Olympics 2024 as the reigning World Champion, throwing to 88.17-metre mark at the Hungary World Championships 2023. He also won the Gold at the 2022 Asian Games. And to add to that, Chopra won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Who won men's javelin throw final at Paris Olympics 2024?

Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won the Olympic Gold in men's javelin throw at Paris Olympics 2024. Nadeem broke the Olympic record of 90.57 metres, by throwing a 92.97 metres in his second attempt. Nadeem also broke his personal best of 90.18 metres from the Commonwealth Games in 2022. He also hit a 91.79m throw in his final throw.

Nadeem became Pakistan's first medal recipient since the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Nadeem's effort for Gold is Pakistan's first-ever gold medal in individual events at the Olympic Games.

India's Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics. Chopra added to his Olympic medal tally by bagging a silver medal for India. India's ace thrower threw his seasonal best of 89.45m at the Paris Olympics to get India to yet another podium finish in the ongoing event.
