What is Neeraj Chopra’s diet plan?

In an interview with ESPN, Neeraj revealed that he had been following a vegetarian diet until 2016, however, the demand for the sport made him add non-vegetarian food to his diet to increase his protein intake.

I've added salmon to my diet. It's supposed to be good for you. I've started eating it recently. If I have to eat non-vegetarian food, I'll prefer having some grilled salmon.

Neeraj also stated that he takes a cheat meal sometimes. He mentioned that there is no harm in eating his favourite delicacies once in a while. The Haryanvi dish Churma is one of Neeraj’s favourite foods along with sweets and Golgappas.

I think there is no harm in eating golgappas. It's mostly water and most of your stomach gets filled with water. The papri is quite big, but the amount of flour is very little. It's mostly water that's going inside you. There is some amount of spice, but that's another matter.

The Olympic website even mentioned the Indian sensation’s detailed diet plan on their official website.

How did Neeraj Chopra perform at the Paris Olympics 2024?

Neeraj entered the Olympic Games in Paris as the defending Olympic champion in the men’s javelin throw event. The 26-year-old secured an easy place into the final after clearing the 85m qualifying mark on his very first throw.

However, in the final, close friend and arch-rival Arshad Nadeem stepped up big time for Pakistan. Arshad set a new Olympic Record with a 92.97m throw on his second attempt. Neeraj came close with an 89.45m throw, but it proved to be too much for the world champion in the end.

The star Indian athlete had to settle for a silver medal, an impressive feat nonetheless. Neeraj was the only Indian athlete to win the silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.
