Manchester United clinched their first Europa League win of the 2022/23 season as they picked up a 2-0 victory away in Moldova against Sheriff Tiraspol.
Jadon Sancho's early goal settled the visitors nerves in Chisinau before Cristiano Ronaldo's spot kick opened his goal scoring account for the campaign.
With the contest effectively over in the second period, United's intensity dropped off, and Sheriff posed a sporadic comeback threat.
However, with no domestic game this weekend, United now head off into the international break on the back of four wins in their last five games in all competitions.
Ronaldo off the mark to give ten Hag pause for thought
Ronaldo's desire to leave United was the big summer story at Old Trafford with the Portuguese international eventually blocked from his objective of moving on in search of Champions League football.
Ten Hag has adopted a straightforward line over the 37-year-old's role at United, with a substantial amount of pre-season missed during the stand off, and just one Premier League start to his name ahead of the international break.

How the former Ajax coach manages Ronaldo in the coming months will be a key question for him, but a first goal of the campaign - alongside Marcus Rashford's injury - could see him brought back into the fold next month.
Sancho unfazed by England omission
Gareth Southgate's decision not to include Sancho in his England squad for UEFA Nations League duty this month was viewed with bemusement by United fans.
A goal in Moldova brings him up to three goals so far in 2022/23, more than half of his overall tally from last season, and Ten Hag has revived his confidence in recent weeks.
Despite the arrival of Antony, Sancho remains a vital figure in Ten Hag's plans, and the pair seem to be his first choice wide options alongside Rashford.
When will Ten Hag unleash Casemiro?
United's move for Casemiro was viewed as a statement transfer by the club in the final days of the transfer window as the Brazilian arrived with a sack full of silverware from Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old midfield lynchpin brings with him experience of winning the biggest trophies into a United side in transition under Ten Hag.
Another cameo off the bench tonight indicates the United boss is still waiting for the right time to bring him into the starting XI, but the incoming international break means another spell away from the training ground, and he could face a battle to feature regularly before the World Cup.
