It wasn't pretty, but the Chiefs remained undefeated on Monday night. On a rainy evening in Kansas City, the Chiefs outlasted the Buccaneers 30-24, scoring the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

Patrick Mahomes shook off an ankle injury to have his best game of the season, totaling 291 passing yards and three touchdowns while not throwing an interception for the first time this year. Travis Kelce also had a big game, catching 14 passes for 100 yards, while DeAndre Hopkins had eight catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

For the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay fought back in the second half despite being down 10-7 at halftime, taking a 17-10 lead at one point. Later, down 24-17 with two minutes left, Baker Mayfield executed a touchdown drive to tie the game. Tampa Bay opted to kick the extra point instead of going for two to take the lead with 30 seconds left, leading to plenty of second-guessing of coach Todd Bowles.

Mayfield's night ended with 200 yards passing and two touchdowns, with tight end Cade Otton leading the way receiving with eight catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.

With the game pushed to overtime, the Chiefs won the coin toss and wouldn't give the ball back. Kansas City's final drive was 10 plays for 70 yards, with Kareem Hunt scoring the game-winning two-yard touchdown in overtime. Hunt finished the game with 27 carries for 106 yards and a score, his best game of the year thus far.

At one point, after the Chiefs tied the game at 17, Mahomes appeared to seriously injure his lower left leg. However, the Chiefs quarterback shook off the rolled ankle and came back on the field when Kansas City got the ball back, not missing any action.

Kansas City now remains undefeated and is the only team in the league without a loss. The Buccaneers, meanwhile, fall to 4-5 and are two games back of the Falcons for first place in the NFC South. Next week, the Chiefs host the Broncos, while Tampa Bay travels to play the 49ers.
