The Presidents Cup is coming back to Canada.

For the first time since 2007, the Royal Montreal Golf Club will host the biennial event, which features a battle between the United States and International teams. Mike Weir, a native of Sarnia, Ontario, will serve as the captain of the International squad, while Jim Furyk will lead the Americans.

Three Canadian golfers earned spots on the International roster: Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes and Taylor Pendrith. Conners and Pendrith both played at the Presidents Cup in 2022, while Hughes is jumping into the competition for the first time in his career.

It has been more than two decades since the International team, which does not include European players, won the Presidents Cup, but Conners believes that this group is ready to snap the losing streak.

"I think everybody on our team knows we've been trending in the right direction. We've got a good plan in place," Conners said on Tuesday (via TSN). "We can definitely do it. They've had our number in the Presidents Cup, but I think everyone on the team, the captains, are instilling a lot of belief in us."
