Updated Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings Week 3: Who to start, best sleepers and streamers at K image

The Washington Commanders scored 21 points on Sunday on their way to a victory over the New York Giants. No, they did not score three touchdowns with three extra points. In his first game in a Commanders' uniform, kicker Austin Seibert went 7/7 on field goals, accounting for all of Washington's points.

Siebert's day wasn't the only unusual event in the world of kicking on Sunday. Future Hall of Fame kicker Justin Tucker actually missed a field goal. This marks two consecutive games where Tucker has missed a field goal attempt, something that you don't see all that often.

It's nice to reflect on the strange happenings from Week 2, but it's already time to move on to Week 3. The Sporting News has you covered with our Week 3 kicker rankings where we'll cover the top options and sleepers at the position.

Who are the best fantasy kickers in Week 3?

Greg Zurlein carries the nickname "Legatron" after his days with the Rams. It would be kind of him to let Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey take that nickname from him. Aubrey has the biggest leg in the NFL right now, and it seems like Mike McCarthy is comfortable sending him out there anywhere past the 50-yard line. Until something changes, Aubrey will be a regular member of the weekly top-5.

Harrison Butker is another player who you can expect to be a mainstay among the top-5 kickers. He's the highest-paid kicker in the NFL for a reason. Butker's combination of power, accuracy, and poise isn't something you see in every kicker. His talent, coupled with a Chiefs' offense that is performing at a high level, should lead to plenty of scoring opportunities for Butker.

Even with the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, the Buffalo Bills' offense is still looking like they are capable of keeping up in a track meet. The offense now favors a run-heavy approach, but they can seemingly score at will with James Cook and Josh Allen on the ground. Tyler Bass will be provided with a steady dose of field goal attempts in this offense.

Waiver Wire advice: Breaking down the top pickups for Week 3

Who are the best fantasy kicker sleepers in Week 3?

It's rather difficult to project kicker scoring, so going after the kickers in high-scoring offenses is the way to go. After two weeks, the NFL's highest-scoring offense is none other than the New Orleans Saints. Saints' kicker Blake Grupe is rostered in just 6 percent of Yahoo leagues. After a second straight 40-plus point game, he should be rostered in far more leagues and could legitimately be considered a starter.

Jake Bates is another kicker who is rostered in far too few leagues (21 percent on Yahoo) considering the offense he is attached to. Bates is Detroit's kicker and they are gearing up for what should be a high-scoring affair against the Cardinals. We know the Lions can score 30 points in any given week, and the Cardinals are an ascending offense with Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. leading the way. This will be a matchup to target for fantasy purposes in Week 3, with kickers included.
