The Marlins bounced back from a horror round one showing, earning a nailbiting 24-22 win over Easts with a kick after the siren.

Meanwhile, the Highlanders juggernaut rolls on with a 50-5 demolition of the Two Blues.

After a round full of blowouts last weekend, there was another close one in week two, with Eastwood defeating Southern Districts 28-25.

Sydney University were too good for West Harbour, running out 57-15 victors, while Warringah beat Randwick 29-12 and Norths were too much for the Hunter Wildfires, winning 23-3.

At Woollahra Oval, Easts clung on to a 22-17 lead in the dying stages, before Manly were awarded a penalty in front of the posts with 30 seconds left on the clock.

The Marlins opted to pack a scrum, and after one reset, the visitors spread it wide and crossed in the corner to level the scores almost two minutes after the siren.

Harley Attwater was tasked with taking the kick to win it, teeing up one metre in from the right hand touchline.

The inside centre's conversion never looked like missing, and the Marlins were on the board.

At Forshaw Park, a 14-man Eastwood side scored a hard-fought 28-25 win over Southern Districts when Chris Bell kicked a 47-metre penalty in the final 10 minutes.

The Woods were reduced to 14-men just eight minutes into the contest when Sione Tau caught Joe Cotton with a shoulder to the head.
