Australia played its first Test matches under new coach Joe Schmidt with back-to-back matches against Wales starting on July 6.

They then faced Georgia in their final warm-up match before the Rugby Championship got underway.

The Wallabies are now looking to put a horror 2023 behind them, where they fell to a pool stage exit at the Rugby World Cup for the first time ever.

Amid a gruelling period of rugby, The Sporting News looks at when Australia last won a test match.

When did Australia last win a Test match?

Australia's last victory came on September 1, 2024 when they defeated Argentina by one point in La Plata.

The Wallabies secured a 20-19 victory on the buzzer to get on the board in the Rugby Championship.

The Test series against Wales is the beginning of a big year for the Wallabies, as they face difficult challenges at home and abroad.

The Rugby Championship in August and September will see them look to reclaim face against familiar foes New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina in the six game series.

They then travel to the Northern Hemisphere in November to take on England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in a gruelling month of rugby.

All of this is preparation for the tour of the British and Irish Lions, which is taking place in 2025.
