Penrith Panthers captain Isaah Yeo is set to lead his team to a potential fourth Premiership win on Sunday.

As he prepares for the most important game of the season, Bulldogs GM Phil Gould heaped his praises on the forward.

Gould acknowledged that Yeo has been one of the best players this season and should be honoured for it.

“He should be player of the year, he should be Australian captain," Gould said on Wide World of Sports' Six Tackles with Gus.

"I think he's my tip for the Clive Churchill Medal to be honest.”

"I think he's been the best player in the competition from here to the moon.”

While Isaah Yeo has been a great player, the names in contention for the medal are halfbacks Nathan Cleary and Jahrome Hughes.

"I don't think there's any comparison to his body of work from any player, from any club, from any position.

"The playmakers get all the plaudits ... but for a sheer body of work, productive to his team, week in, week out, 80 minutes a week.

"He even played during the Origin period when his teammates stood down from games, such was his leadership and desire to keep the momentum for his team.

"Go out and ask any of the Panthers players who's been the best player in their team this year ... I bet they say Isaah Yeo."

Who is playing in the 2024 NRL Grand Final?

Penrith Panthers are set to take on Melbourne Storm in the ultimate decider on Sunday.

The last time these two teams met in a Grand Final was in 2020 and the Storm took the win.

However, the Panthers will be looking to maintain their winning streak, adding a fourth consecutive title to their bag.
