Socceroos player ratings vs Vietnam: Tom Rogic runs the show, Martin off the Boyle image

The Socceroos got over another hurdle in World Cup qualifying with a comfortable 4-0 win against Vietnam at AAMI Park on Thursday night.

Tom Rogic continued his magnificent form that we've seen at Celtic, while Maty Ryan came up trumps once again.

There was also two Socceroos on the scoresheet for the first time and two debuts for some young talents.

Here's how we rated the Socceroos players against Vietnam...

Maty Ryan 8

Made a brilliant stop with his shoulder with the score at 2-0. Another solid performance from the veteran Australian stopper.

Fran Karacic 6

A solid shift at right-back. Worked hard both ways. Got forward into attacking areas.

Milos Degenek 7

Managed to make a couple of crucial blocks and dealt with Vietnam's counter-attacks well.

Trent Sainsbury 6

Marshalled the defence solidly alongside Degenek. Cool, calm and collected.

Joel King 7

Solid debut for the national team. Swung in some nice crosses as well. Could put pressure on Behich.

Jackson Irvine 6

Worked hard in midfield. Helped recycle possession and get Australia back into attack.

Aaron Mooy 6

Had some nice touches without being at his devastating best. Nice to see him back starting again for the national team.

Tom Rogic 9

What a performance. One of his best in Australian colours. Got the assist for Maclaren's opener with a wonderful cross. Scored the second with a crisp finish on the stroke of half-time.

Martin Boyle 5

Tried hard but a quiet game by the winger's standards. Just couldn't get involved in any attacking chances.

Mathew Leckie 8

Looked lively on the left wing. Slipped a wonderful pass to Rogic for the all-important second goal.

Jamie Maclaren 8

Nabbed the crucial opening goal with an excellent header from Leckie's cross. Struggled with his passing but can be let off for that with his goal.

Substitutes: Craig Goodwin 8, Riley McGree 8, Mitch Duke 6, Marco Tilio N/A, James Jeggo N/A
