Australia Results Tokyo Olympic Games Day 12, Aussies in action today: Mat Belcher and Will Ryan clinch gold medal in sailing image

Mat Belcher and Will Ryan clinched the gold medal in the men's 470 sailing class in style with a victory in the medal race on Day 12.

The Aussie pair only needed to finish the race and avoid any false start penalites to win Australian's 15th gold medal in Tokyo, however they added an exclamation mark with another dominant performance in the final race.

Marathon swimmer Kareena Lee won bronze in the women's 10km race, while at the velodrome the Aussies defeated France in the men's Team Pursuit to also claim bronze.

Peter Bol narrowly missed his goal of reaching the podium after finishing fourth in the men's 800m final.

The Australian took the initiative after a slow star to the race, hitting the front before he was run down in the closing stages.

It was a good day for Ashley Moloney in the men's decathlon, wiith the Australian sitting in second place.after five events.

10.08 am - Men’s Decathlon - 100m Heat 2 - Cedric Dubler finished 3rd, earning 885 points. 
10.16 am - Men’s Decathlon 100m Heat 3 - Ashley Moloney finished 2nd, earning 1,013 points.
10.55 am - Men’s Decathlon - Long Jump Group B -  Ashley Moloney recorded a jump of 7.64m, earning 970 points. Cedric Dubler was 5th with a jump of 7.36m, earning 900 points.
12 pm - Men’s 110m Hurdles Semifinal 1 - Nicholas Hough finished 7th.
12.40 pm - Men’s Decathlon - Shot Put Group A - Cedric Dubler recorded a personal best of 13.35m to finish 10th, earning 689 points.
12.40 pm - Men’s Decathlon - Shot Put Group B - Ashley Moloney recorded a throw of 14.49m, earning 758 points.
7.30 pm - Men’s Decathlon - High Jump Group A - Cedric Dubler finished 2nd in his group with a jump of 2.05m, earning 850 points.
7.30 pm - Men’s Decathlon - High Jump Group B - Ashley Moloney finsiehd 1st in his group with a personal-best jump of 2.11m, earning 906 points.
8 pm - Women’s 1500m Semifinal 1 - Jessica Hull finsiehd 4th, setting a new Australian record with a time of 3:58.81 to automatically qualify for the final.
8.12 pm - Women’s 1500m Semifinal 2 - Linden Halll finished 3rd in a time of 4:01.37 to autimatically qualify for the final.
9 pm - Women’s 3000m Steeplechase Final - Genevieve Gregson did not finish the race.
10.05 pm - Men’s 800m Final - Peter Bol finished 4th in a time of 1:45.92.
10.46 pm - Men’s Decathlon 400m Heat 3 - Ashley Moloney won the heat to bank another 994 points. Cedric Dubler finished 7th, earning 860 points.

4 pm - Women’s 10m Platform Preliminary Round - Melissa Wu qualified for the semifinal in 4th position. Nikita Hains finished 21st place and will not dive in the semifinals.

11.14 am - Women’s Stroke Play 1st Round - Minjee Lee shot an even-par round of 71 to sit in a share of 23rd place. 
11.36 am - Women’s Stroke Play 1st Round - Hannah Green also carded an opening 71 to be in a tie for 23rd after 18 holes.
